Lauren Schoepfer is a four-year recipient of the Terrence J. Miller Annual Journalism Scholarship. As a senior student pursuing graphic design at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Lauren maintained her position on the dean’s list.
“I would not have been able to fully commit to my studies without the generosity of the Terrence J. Miller Scholarship. Knowing I have NPC’s support and guidance has taken a weight off my shoulders. I am grateful for this special opportunity.” Lauren’s mentor is Rhona Saunders and additionally the late Arthur Hecht, both founding members of the club.
As a former Naples Daily News intern, Lauren is now a published writer and photographer. Some of her latest graphic design work from this semester at UCF is part of her portfolio. Her journalism skills coupled with her portfolio will help jump start her career upon her graduation next spring.
Projects like the New Hope for Kids Annual Report are from her graphic design program classes, but she also studies photography as an elective counting toward her degree. She is a freelance designer and sales representative for Impress Ink Custom Apparel, an Orlando-based screen printing company. The One Heart T-shirt donation project stems from the internship she had with this company this past summer.
